Left Independence a little later than we hoped, but we enjoyed seeing some sights (rest of the story continues after the pictures...):
Brooklyn playing on the iPad
Doug (looking like a 'skin head')
Brandon having fun with his camera and the night lights
Church of Christ temple across from the Independence Visitor's Center:
The kids called it the 'whip cream' and 'upside down ice cream cone' temple
Inside the LDS visitor's center...

Wow, aren't they awesome looking??
Small 'play area' downstairs was a favorite of the kids

Kansas City International
Oak Ridge mall south of KC... Brennalyn, Brinley, and Bryan went for
a little ride after visiting the Lego's store
With a thunderstorm along the way, we decided to push through to Dad's instead of stopping along the way. Arrived around 4am KY time. One thing we know for sure -- the kids sleep really well when we're driving the RV! Thankfully Liz was able to drive some so that Doug could get some sleep before driving again.
Got up and went to church at the Shepherdsville Branch. Nice folks, good services. Came back to the house, visited a bit while a few took some naps. Sue and Jim came by to say 'hi', had a nice visit as we planned how to fix the country and all the states in trouble. Simple plan, I think it'll work! Now all we need to do is take over DC later this week...
Love the pictures and the update!!! Looks like everyone is still alive and well. Looking forward to the next posting!
